Cody, Music Man
For Christmas, Cody received a drum set from Santa. I finally put it together tonight and he just squealed with delight once it was assembled. He also got a guitar, keyboard and piano. We have all the instruments to make a band. They both love to make noise, um I mean music!

Mischievous Antics
This blog entry will be dedicated to the cute, yet trying antics my two have been doing this past week:
Sunday, I stayed home from church with Carleigh since she had an ear infection. She came into the kitchen at almost noon and told me "I want Mac-n-cheese." So I fixed it, she clapped her hands and ate almost the whole cup! This was her real first food she has had since Tuesday of last week.
She took a nap that same day and I wanted to feel her forehead and she said, "Go away!" and then turned over so that I could not touch her. Oh my!
Today, she said "Don't do that Cody! Stop that Cody! Cody, come on!" She is such a little miss boss for sure.
Cody was in his booster seat at the kitchen table finishing his dinner. Carleigh came into the kitchen and Cody said "Sissy!" then he pointed to the back family room and then said "Piano!" "Sissy, piano!" Meaning, Sissy go into the back family room and bring my piano to me. I gave her permission since he was finished and he squealed with delight. I think he is finally accepting that if he talks to us, he will get what he wants (most of the time).
On Christmas day, my sister was in the bathroom. Cody goes to the door and says "Open THIS door!" Connie thought it was so cute! She also came over the other day and Cody goes up to her and says "Hi, Connie!"
Yesterday, I went into the kitchen to make lunch. Well, all of a sudden I heard crunching noises. I go into the family room and Cody and Carleigh are sitting on the floor with a bag of chips they found in Cody's backpack (I keep snacks in their for dr's appts or when we are out and about.) Crumbs were everywhere but it was so cute to see them eat!
Today, Carleigh was hitting Cody in the head and got smacked back with his Mickey doll and her nose started to bleed. It finally stopped, but oh, the antics of preschoolers!!

Cody's Eye Appointment
I was soooo dreading this morning, however, I came prepared. I brought the stroller, his new Vtech Pocket gaming system, his spinning toy and some food and we were good to go. It also helps to be the first appointment of the day so not a lot of waiting which is good for a boy with hyperactivity! Once they dilated his eyes, he started to calm down and want me to hold him (probably because he couldn't see well!".
He did a FABULOUS job for the eye dr and he could really get a good assessment of his eyes. His eyes have changed and he needs a new prescription and since he BROKE his glasses anyway, I guess it worked out. We will take him on Wed to pick out his new glasses and he will be getting wire frames. Of course he had to hug the doctor before leaving! I am just so proud of him and it only took 1.5 hours! (Normally it is AT least a 2 hour visit due to dilation.) Phew! So glad that is over with and we can all enjoy the rest of the day.
Carleigh is soooo back to normal and is really enjoying her train table and the Clipo Block table.

The Train Table
I was really impressed with this train table. It is regularly priced at $90, Meijer had it on sale for $39.99 and I had an additional 20% off, so I paid $32 for it which is a great price. You cannot find quality train tables under $100. And another cool fact is that the train set that Michelle bought the kids is the same brand as the table and matches the table and it also connects with another wooden set so we have miles of tracks. Also, it has two drawers to store more track.
Another Ear Infection
I just KNEW that Carleigh was getting another ear infection! My suspicions were confirmed when she was diagnosed this morning at the doctor's office. More antibiotics for her much to her delight, she loves the pink stuff. Two ear infections in two months, oh I hope we are not starting a trend.
I was up at 3:30am giving her Tylenol and then she became the Energizer bunny and wanted to eat, drank two cups full of juice/water, and wanted to play. After a couple hours later, we were all asleep and then back up again for her 9:10am Dr's appt.
She slept for 3 hours and did not want to wake up. She perked up when I told her that I was going to work on her train table. She is now running around and play with her prized train table.
I worked on half of it before going to dinner with Matt's parents, then a quick trip to Kohls to get some pants for school from a gift card and then back to assembling the train table. It took about 3 hours in all, but I did it all by myself!! Wooohoo!

Christmas Day Morning
We slept in until almost 9am! Wooohooo! When Cody awoke, he was full of energy and excitement. When he saw all the presents, he became SUPER hyper. Carleigh saw the presents and then plopped into the chair and watched Cody open all his presents first. This nasty cough/cold has really did her in. Finally, she awoke and then started to open presents and was back to her normal self other than a runny nose and a cough. She was fever free today but was running a low-grade fever last night.
Playing with the toys
The kids enjoyed their presents from Santa. Carleigh's cat meows, moves her head/eyes/mouth/tail/neck and was hard for Santa to transport from the sleigh to the tree with it meowing! Santa had to add some extra ho, ho, ho's because she was not awake when Santa delivered the cat under the tree with its loud meowing.
Cody is in PIANO heaven! I have a videotape of Cody opening his piano and will post it tomorrow.
Christmas at Memaw & Papaw's
We had dinner at my mom and dad's house. We had a wonderful dinner with all the trimmings: ham, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, broccoli casserole, baked beans, stuffing, fried potatoes, yams, biscuits/rolls, cheeseball, banana pudding, cookies, chocolate pie, and candy. After all the good food, we all opened presents and then watched tv. We had a wonderful time!
Last round of opening gifts
Enjoying more gifts

Christmas Eve
For Christmas Eve, we spent the evening with Matt's family. Everyone gathered at Jesse's house and there was quite a few there including, Matt's parents, his sister and family, friends and cousins for a total of about 20 people. Cody and Carleigh loved running around and playing with their cousins. Carleigh has a bad cough and a slight cold. Hopefully she will feel better tomorrow morning!
