Just the three of us and a dog

Matt's aunt passed away on Monday morning. In an effort to help his parents drive, plus be there for the family, Matt left this afternoon for southern PA and Maryland for the rest of the week.

This will be the longest time that the kids or I have been away from him. Mr. C doesn't grasp it fully, but Cinderella understands somewhat.

We are keeping busy with VBS at my sister's church, Kings Island with the cousins, and a few appointments. Thank goodness for a busy week!!

Summer Fun

We are making most of every day! Yesterday, we went to the Dollar Cinema for a cheap, but adorable movie called "Rio 2." I am trying to do something fun every day plus they are going to my sister 's VBS this week.

Lazy Summer Days

The real first day of summer vacation began last Monday. It has been great despite the three days of gloomy and rainy weather! I have been working on  clearing more boxes out of the garage and putting more things away in the new house.

The kids are getting used to the new normal and love the house much more than they did the old one. They have lots of children to play with their age now. Charlie is getting used to life in the Schmidt family and is now sleeping all night. Crate training has been challenging, but he is slowing getting used to it. He is such a feisty puppy he loves to nibble on me or my clothing. I cannot keep enough toys and bones around for him. We have have him for almost 3 weeks and I am amazed at how fast he is growing! Next week, he goes back to the vet for more shots and I will be curious to see how much weight he has gained. (He was a whopping 2.1 lbs at his first vet check.)

We are planning some staycation events this year as we have so many costs with buying the house, plus purchasing things for the house so we could not afford a big family vacation. No doubt that we will find lots of fun things to do locally.

We are gearing up for our big 4th of July - House Warming cookout in July and look forward to showing our family and friends our new home.
