Cinderella Update

In this blog post, I am going to brag on my baby girl. For the past year or so, it has been a rough one with Cinderella. Her behavior has been the worst ever and getting her to do schoolwork was like asking her to have a root canal. Her teachers complained of her inattention and so we re-visited her ADD pediatrician. Her first med was not great, but now that she is taking Focalin, she is a different girl. Our mother-daughter relationship has gotten so much better and she is her sweet, helpful girl again! Of course, she still has her onery and Diva-drama-filled days, but it is so much better! I cannot say enough how her teachers are giving her great weekly reports and her progress in school is amazing! So proud of my little blonde beauty!

She is so looking forward to her birthday in March and I cannot believe she will be 8! *sigh*

What a week it has been!

The last 7 days have been absolutely CRAZY! Last Tuesday, my mom becomes sick. So Wednesday - Friday, Matt and I scrambled with a plan to get the kids on the bus and head to work. Then, my mom gets worse and gets hospitalized Friday afternoon. This is the birthday weekend for Mr. C who has been looking forward to it for WEEKS! We decided to cancel shopping plans and his parents watched the kids while we visited mom that night.

Saturday was a BLUR! I had a Spelling Bee to do and then my sister picked me up and then we visited Mom, took Dad back home so he could rest and get his car, ran some errands, visited with mom some more, and then did last minute birthday shopping. I was on the go from 6:30 - 9:30pm that day! I collaspsed in bed that night!

Mr. C's party was Sunday afternoon. The majority of Matt's family could not make it due to stomach issues and my parents could not make it due to my mom being released from the hospital that afternoon. We didn't have many people but the kids had a blast! I came down with an upset stomach (from eating pizza and cupcakes....not great for my blood sugar!) and then the headache. Suddenly one of the worst sinus infections hit me Sunday evening.

Monday I was looking forward to relaxing. Well, I was sick and luckily Matt had the day off and took care of the kids and I! I then had to figure out who was getting the kids on the bus each morning of this week which became ME! My school worked around my problem and had my class covered every day until 8:55am when I could get there. I am so thankful to have understanding co-workers!

Mr. C gets sick Wednesday and has a fever. I beg my dad to take care of him and Matt takes him to the dr. to see if he has the flu (he had a vaccine). He doesn't have the flu! PTL! He is on the mend and then we get a phone call today from school saying that Cinderella threw up. Once she gets home, she is perfectly fine! Crazy!!

We are looking forward to recuperating this weekend and also secretly hoping for a snow day tomorrow since we have not had one in over a year!!

Handsome 9 year old!

Monster Mini Golf Party

Mr. C had a monstrous good time at his 9th birthday party! Despite a lot of family being sick, a good time was had by all. Mr . C LOVES money and he got plenty which he will save and spend in the summer. He received lots of winter and summer clothes so he is set in the clothes department for quite awhile! He loves his new Fijit robot that talks and dances and tells jokes.

2013 so far...

So far, the new year is better than last year. Of course, it is just beginning, but I have some good news. Mr. C had a great first day of school of 2013! Not sure, about the second or third day, but I will definitely celebrate a good day! Cinderella has had THREE good days! Wooohooo!

We are planning Mr. C's 9th birthday. I am just so sad that this is his last year in the single digits. He is getting so tall and I can dance with him with ease. He comes to my shoulders now and he is growing too fast! It's going to be such a fun birthday party for him and he is so very excited and talks about it every day! His  language has blossomed and he can be very funny (he gets its naturally from his momma of course!! LOL!). The other day when his sister was whiney, he looks at her and says, "Just GO!"

My goals for the 2013 year is to see success in my kiddos, to get healthy and stay healthy and to SIMPLIFY. I am confident that all of these will come this new, hopeful year.
