One more day until Spring Break! Woooohooo! Does it feel like Spring here? NO WAY! However, I am in serious need of a break. I have major house projects to get tackled. I am de-cluttering and getting rid of a LOT over break. There are reasons behind this. My family and close friends already know what is happening. I am not ready to share it on the blog yet, so unless you send me a private message, I am not sharing what is going on just yet.
We are delaying our bunnies arrivals due to the other changes. We're are still getting those precious animals, but it might be this time next year. Or, we might get a puppy or maybe both! LOL!
I have told the kids what is going on. Cinderella brought it up today and asked me a lot of questions over it. She is starting to understand a LOT more so I really have to keep my conversations guarded from now on.
The kids are excited about break and so am I! They are more excited about what will be in their Easter basket. I am more excited about getting more SLEEP! It's the little things that I care about. We are hoping for nice weather. I want to start my exercise regimine and it has to be warmer!!

Student of the Month
Miss Cinderella came home on Tuesday with a paper saying that she is Student of the Month for January! Her teacher nominated her out of all her students in her class and she was chosen! She will get to have ice cream with the principals next Monday! She is so excited about this! Her behavior and academic achievement has been stellar this year. We are so very proud of you sweetie! Way to go! Way to go!!
Changes
When I think about change, I usually do not like it. I'm the type of girl that doesn't want things to change. Change can be scary, especially with an unknown. However, things are changing all the time. And yes, there will be some BIG changes in our family within the next year. This change was quite frightening at first, but now that it is growing on me, I am getting quite excited about it! I can't share what the change is just yet. Stay tuned!

Birthday Celebrations
Thursday evening, my family went to Fuji House (Japanese Hibachi grill) to celebrate Cinderella's birthday. She had been there last summer and it seemed like a good place to celebrate her birthday. Mr. C had never been to this type of restaurant. He was CAPTIVATED! He watched the chef make flames on the grill right in front of him, he clapped when the chef did all sorts of tricks, and he ate 3-4 whole shrimp, lots of chicken, fried rice, and a few veggies. The boy CHOWED down! Cinderella enjoyed the soup and the chicken. They brought out a birthday treat which was fried banana slices with whipped creme and a candle in the middle. She wasn't a fan of the banana, but she liked the whipped creme and chocolate sauce!
My parents gave her money and a new DS game, her aunt gave her Justice clothes, spring dresses, and some favorite toys, my niece gave her two cute dresses (one she'll wear for Easter), and we bought her a DS game, a Monster High doll and convertible car, and a summer outfit.
We went to my parents' home to eat cake and then boy was it getting late (on a school night, yikes!) and so we quickly ate cake and went home. She enjoyed playing with her stuff a little too much so bedtime was QUITE the battle!
Friday night, we went to dinner with Matt's family and today, I am taking her to Build A Bear with a few girls.

Happy 8th Birthday, Cinderella!
Eight years ago today, my sweet baby was born! I didn't know she had been born until the following morning. At first, it was looking like we would take her home being just a day old, but she was having some feeding issues, so it was the following afternoon before we picked her up at the hospital.
I'll never forget that ride to the hospital with my mom and baby Mr. C! We strolled Mr. C up to the maternity ward and when I saw her in the nursery, my heart melted! I changed her into the outfit I brought and got to walk out of the hospital with a beautiful, precious 2 day old newborn! (Note: I also had hospital security with me! LOL!) I also remember that I made a wrong turn and got completely lost and had to call my sister for directions!
We arrived home safely and had quite a few visitors that evening! Oh my, she was the sweetest baby and has grown into a sweet girl with a sassy, independent side!
Happy 8th Birthday, Cinderella! We love you so very much!

Promise of Spring
Yesterday and today has been a promise of spring! The kids were able to get outside, ride bikes and just have fun! It gave us all a craving for summer. My mind has been focused on summer and our upcoming beach vacation. I've been researching the best place to stay that is kid-friendly and not overly crowded.
Cinderella spent Friday night with my parents and enjoyed going to lunch and shopping with Matt's parents. She is definitely enjoying all the extra attention that comes with her birthday.
This week, we are going out on Thursday and Friday to celebrate her birthday. Then, she will be going to Build-A-Bear on Saturday with a few girls. It will definitely be a fun-filled week ahead!

Easter Present
We are looking into purchasing something similar to this:
This will be the home of our future rabbits!! I have been thinking about getting the kids a pet for awhile. We cannot get a dog until we buy our house, so outdoor rabbits will do! As a child, I had many rabbits! I loved them so very much! I am thinking I can teach Mr. C to be gentle and calm as well as teach responsibility to Cinderella. Cinderella loves to do chores and help, although her "helping" can be worse than me doing it by myself!
Did you know that my class had a pet bunny for the first two years of my teaching? Having an indoor bunny and cage is a LOT of work and cleaning so I gave my bunny away. A couple of years ago, I had that same student (who was in high school) tell me that my bunny named "Smokie" was still alive! That bunny had to be 9 years old! Wow!
Stay tuned to find out what Easter will bring this year!!
