On the go, go, go!
Cody hardly walks anymore. He is on the go, go, go! He runs at lightning speed and hardly ever sits down for a rest! I wish I had his energy!! His eating has improved. Lately, his favorite snacks are York Peppermint patties, ritz cheese crackers, and chocolate Teddy grahams. Last week, he ate his first ever peanut butter and jelly sandwich! Now we really need to work on breaking the bottle and transfer to the sippy cup. Carleigh crawls at lightning speed and is pointing. It is just too cute when she blows and smacks a kiss.

Our newest challenges and developments...
Cody has learned to take his diaper off!! This weekend, he has figured out how to pull the tabs off his diaper. He apparently took his diaper off and was put down for a nap before one of us realized he didn't have a diaper on. Luckily, he was just wet when Daddy pulled him out of his crib. Carleigh has learned to blow kisses and kiss "on demand." She is just a little sponge and learns something new every day! However, she is a typical toddler now because she throws tantrums when she doesn't get her way. Cody has also pulled to a stand on his own without holding on!! He doesn't do it often but when he does we cheer him on. Way to go, Cody!!

Back to Work!
I am officially a working mom again! My first "official" day was Wednesday. My brain has gone to mush over all the information, teacher meetings, and just your typical "Back to School" issues. I love staying home with my children in the summer, but around August, I am itching to go back. I have no doubt a "calling" for education. God definitely made this career abundantly clear. Matt is now staying home with the children for the next 9 months. He is talking about finding a part-time position in the evenings, but right now, he is just thinking about it. Tomorrow, I have a "Back to School Night" and a picnic following the open house. Then, the first day of school is Monday. I have 18 students, 9 boys and 9 girls this year. This is the perfect number ideally in the primary grades. The only thing I dread is getting up EARLY. I need to get up at 5:30am due to many reasons. The following pics are my classroom!

Our family!
This was taken this afternoon at Winton Woods. I think this is one of the better family photos we have taken. We are planning to have family portraits taken after reaching an important milestone....Cody's adoption finalization!
Jennifer and Matt
I am hardly ever in the pictures as I am the camera person in the family! We went with my parents to Winton Woods this afternoon to walk around the lake. This is quite a rare picture!

Portraits today and other ramblings...
Today I am taking my duo to have their portraits taken. I have really neglected portraits lately. It seems like every time that I try to schedule, some one gets a bruise or a cut. They are cut and bruise free right now so I am seizing the opportunity!! We are having them done at JC Penney. Then our next set of portraits will be the Christmas portraits unless we get wonderful news and we get to adopt Cody BEFORE November (I highly doubt it though). Today is my last full day off (during the workweek) with my kiddos. Next Monday, I begin working in my classroom and Matt will become a stay at home dad. He might find part-time work in the evenings to eliminate any boredom and for Christmas. I will soooo miss these little guys. Carleigh has become so attached to me. Last night, I went to work in my classroom for 3 hours and when I got back, she saw me, cried "Mummma. Mummma" and crawled over to me and demanded that I hold her. Oh, my sweet little thing!! The first day of school is August 21st. The summer has gone by so fast!!

Our weekly update
Today, Cody and Carleigh decided they wanted to play with a box that I was saving to store away old baby toys for next Spring's yard sale. It is so funny that children want to play with old things better than their toys!! My mom put Cody in the box and he LOVED it! Carleigh had a blast too! Lately, their new craze is to climb onto the couch and stand up while holding onto to the back. Sometimes, Matt and I put tantalizing objects such as the phone or the remote up there so that the kiddos cannot play with them. Now they have figured out the courch, there is no stopping them. Therefore, Matt and I will have to find another place to hide important things!! A couple of days ago, Cody crawled behind the couch and found goldfish crackers from a baggie that had fallen behind the couch. He began eating them quietly until I heard something like a mouse and we discovered him eating away!! Life is never dull with these two!!
