Yes, it is that time of the year again....Teacher Appreciation. I must say it is strange to be on the other side as a parent! This week, Cody and Carleigh's school had a week of surprises for all the teachers and personnel at the school. Monday was Bus Driver day, Tuesday was gifts for the classroom teachers (We gave their teachers a large ceramic jar with a yummy smelling vanilla creme candle inside), Wednesday is speech, occupational, physical therapist day (candles and a note of appreciation for each therapist who works with our children), Thursday is school supply day (I am going out in a little bit for some supplies that are appreciated in their classrooms) and Friday is flower day (just for Kindergarten teachers as preschool is not in session on Fridays).
We had a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Lunch ourselves with a huge spread of veggies, fruits, soups, pasta salad, salads and wonderful desserts of every kind. It was nice not having to make my lunch this morning! One of my students gave me a cute herb garden to grow in a ceramic vase. Attached was a cooking magazine with mixing spoons. I am wanting to learn how to cook more healthy dishes this summer and am so interested in recipes and ideas.
Friday is Grandparents' Day at our school and all the children can leave at lunch time with their Grandparents' or parents. All but one of my students are leaving and that student may leave also if her mother comes. It would be great to have an afternoon of catching up on grading, planning, and other end of the year tasks.
Cody and Carleigh watch the "Wiggles' Magical Adventure" full length movie about once a day and Carleigh can sing and dance the EXACT movements that the Wiggles do. It is so cute to watch her! She also can repeat lots of phrase VERBATIM. Yep, the Wiggles are improving her speech as much as her therapist is!! Gotta love those Wiggles!!
Cody must be loving the school playground because he came with his first scraped knee of the season and of course it happened when he wore shorts!! Both are refusing to take naps for my mom so I fear that naptime is coming to an end....WAaaaaaaa!! (Of course Mommy will be home in the near future so hopefully I can remedy this situation.)
