2014 in Review

2014 was a year of changes for my family, however, despite losing some precious family members, it has been a good year for my family.

In January, Cinderella had her first competitive cheer competition and Mr. C turned 10 years old. It was quite snowy this month with lots of snow days and snowy days even on Mr. C's birthday party and cheer competitions in Columbus.

February was just freezing cold. March was still snowy yet, Cinderella had an American Girl Birthday Tea Party as she turned 9 years old.

April was a bit warmer as we celebrated Matt's 40-something birthday and Easter was late this year. Also in April we made an offer on two different houses, but God brought us to the right house.

In early May, we closed on our first ever OWNED home and we were on cloud 9! To finally be able to accomplish a long, long dream of owning our house and one that we do not have to worry about making the mortgage every month! Our home was flipped and had all new carpet, hardwood flooring, ceramic tile, new paint on inside and outside and a backyard that people DREAM about. We moved in May 9th due to pending rain on Saturday. Later that month, we had another long-term dream happen when we brought home our precious 10 week old pug puppy Charlie. May was a very good month!

June was great with school ending and lazy, summer days filled with Kings Island visits and Cinderella's baseball games.

In July, we hosted our first party in our home as we hosted a 4th of July Cookout. We also traveled to Canton for Cinderella's state baseball tournaments.

In August, we had a busy month of preparing for the start of a new school year. This brought changes as Mr. C became a 5th grader and moved to a new school for him. New school, new teacher, new friends, and not being with his sister. However, he transitioned well. Cinderella started 4th grade and her final year at the elementary school. She also had to adapt to not having her big brother with her at school and on the bus.

September was fun with Jennifer, her mom, her sister, and Jennifer's niece's birthdays as we celebrated them all together with a fun dinner.

October was busy with fun fall events as well as helping with Jennifer's niece's baby shower. It was our first Halloween in our new home and the first time to have trick or treaters.

November started with a new baby being born right after Halloween. We love our precious great-nephew Carter Brendan. He's the first baby born since Cinderella was born 9 years ago.

December was a blur with school events, parties, Christmas programs. We hosted our first Christmas party for the Schmidt Family on Christmas Eve and then hosted Jennifer's inpromptu family Christmas on Christmas Day (due to sickness). We loved hosting and look forward to hosting events in this new year.

As 2015 is beginning, we look forward to all the blessings that the Lord will bestow on us and the surprises that await us too!

Happy New Year 2015 from the Schmidts!!!
