Charlie Candids

Introducing Charlie

This bundle of precious fur joined our family Saturday morning and our lives have never been the same. He had captured out hearts forever! How can you love something so tiny so much??!! He is 12 weeks old and the much anticipated member of the family. We have been waiting for over 16 years for this little guy!

Settling In

We are settling in to our new home and it's going great. I think the biggest transition is getting used to "cul de sac" life. For the past 16 years, we have been used to not having neighbors in close proximity nor having lots of kids next door. We have children on both sides, across the cul de sac and a few down the street. This is not a total as there is one empty house two houses down that could possibly have children in the near future.

My wonderful Dad helped build our wooden gate and now we are ready for the kids to play safely without fear of them getting out without our knowledge. PLUS, now we can get a dog we have been waiting for for like FOREVER! We looked a few shelters and pet stores. We fell in love with a Maltese very similar to my sister's little Lucy, but I wasn't paying a $1300 for a puppy!! So we are still searching. I have a few leads online that I hope really pans out. The kids cannot wait to get a puppy! And Matt and I are very excited too!!

We are looking forward to a 3 day weekend and summer vacation that is coming soon! I hope to have all the boxes unpacked and out of our garage by the end of June. Let's hope it happens!!

Moving Day!!

Due to the impending rain on Friday and Saturday, we decided to move in Thursday evening. We had quite the team of volunteers who helped move us rather quickly.  And we only broke one photo frame out of all the loads of boxes and furniture so I think that is really great!!

The first night was rough as we didn't get the beds up until after 9pm. Then getting showers and into new bedrooms for the first night was a little rough. Mr. C had a meltdown for about 20 minutes. Then, he settled down to sleep. Cinderella was exclaiming she was exhausted as I was brushing her hair. She crashed in less than 5 minutes of getting in bed.

Matt and I were exhausted and a little in pain from all the lifting and carrying. It took us a LONG time to settle down to sleep. I kept waking up and had the worst night of sleep in quite a while.

Despite the exhaustion, we are so thrilled to be in our new home! And the best part is that it is OURS! We love our hardwood floors, new carpet in the bedrooms and ceramic tile in the bathroom, laundry room and kitchen. The house flipper did a great job making this house look like new!  It feels and smells like a new house. And we LOVE all the brand new appliances!!

Today, we had our new washer and dryer delivered, internet installed, and now satellite tv is being installed as I wrote this blog post.

We love our new home!!
